Is it love to forgive oneself?

"What is love?" was the actual question asked in a people’s circle last winter. And I’d say — not only in winter. It's still a question.

But before looking for an answer to this question, I’d offer another direction of discovery — to understand, feel, and experience what a sample of love actually is for oneself.

Let’s dive into another ocean through this post of my LinkedIn newsletter, which I named “Nonsense.”

Once facing the biggest loss ever — during the numbness, by avoiding the pain — one starts thinking.

Then thinking again. And again. Overthinking in a circle of endless self-analysis. Like in Dante’s inferno…

  • Was it because of me just being strict, concrete, direct, open?

  • Was it because of me just being socially active — or isolated?

  • Was it because of me just tending toward self-independence

  • Was it because of me having boundaries, values, expectations

  • Was it because of me just being loyal to my values

  • Was it because of me not being a competitor

  • Was it because of me just being brave — not afraid of taking risks

  • Was it because of me choosing a longer path

  • Was it because of me believing

  • Was it because of me just being initiative

  • Was it because of me just being empathetic

  • Was it because of me just being well-mannered

  • Was it because of me being a perfectionist

  • Was it because of me trusting someone else's potential

  • Was it because of me being proud of someone else's success

  • Was it because of me just not biting back

  • Was it because of me just being kind

  • Was it because of me just being who I am?

Was it because of me just being...? Just being... I mean, just being... Being... — Existing?! 💔

Oh no... Hell, no! Stop!

Stop questioning, you little Socrates! Wasn’t it you claiming there’s no cause-and-effect relationship between all the given variables?

So it’s not necessarily because of something. It was just as it was, babe.

What about to forgive yourself? Just forgive, him, her, them...

Show a sample of love — forgve yourself.

Here, let's end with Loreen - Is It Love (Orchestral Version).

...And you? What samples of love do you know?
